TANZANIA: Dawasa takes over Mwanga-Same-Korogwe drinking water project

It is finally Dar es Salam Water and Sewerage Authority (Dawasa) that replaces M.A. Kharafi & Sons in the Mwanga-Same-Korogwe drinking water project. The group was recently ejected from the project for failing to meet deadlines.
November 2021. This is the new delivery deadline for the drinking water production facilities built as part of the Mwanga-Same-Korogwe water project in Tanzania. This date was recently set by the Dar es Salam Water and Sewerage Authority (Dawasa). On 19 January 2021, the public body was designated by the Tanzanian government to continue the implementation of the Mwanga-Same-Korogwe Water Project in the Kilimanjaro region. ....

TANZANIA: M.A. Kharafi & Sons ejected from Mwanga-Same-Korogwe mega water project

In Tanzania, the government suspended M.A. Kharafi & Sons from the Mwanga-Same-Korogwe water mega-project. It is one of the two companies that were awarded the contract to build the drinking water production facilities for the mega-project. M.A. Kharafi & Sons was expected to complete its work in 2017.
In Tanzania, the Mwanga-Same-Korogwe water mega-project launched in 2014 is stalled. This is due to the slow pace of work by construction companies, notably Kharafi, which is expected to deliver the water treatment facilities in 2017. But in 2021, the taps of households in the beneficiary districts (Mwanga, Same and Korogwe) remain dry. ....
