hopefully the wars will come to an end and we won t be doing anything as dramatic as this. you know, we ve become real attached to the fact that military personnel love their animals and we want to do everything we can to keep them together. sounds great. it s a noble thing to do, right? if, in fact, that is what terry crisp is doing. instead, keeping them honest tonight, cnn s drew griffin has discovered only a slim fraction of the $26 million that woman raised could even possibly have gone towards rescuing dogs. the charity watchdog group has slim doubts how that slim fraction was spent. as they put it, the numbers don t seem to add up. the appeal though, reuniting dogs and troops, is powerful. just as it was 6 1/2 years ago during hurricane katrina when crisp was running an organization and the appeal was reuniting pets and survivors. terry crisp joins me. she is in sacramento, california. good to see you. good to see you, anderson, too. this is tabasco. he was ....

women who sacrificed so much in war zones, not one dime. because of drew s reporting, the senate finance committee is demanding answers from the dvnf. more on that tonight. drew also uncovered yet another veterans charity called the national veterans foundation, which is taking donations, but using only a very small percentage to actually help vets. there are also charities that claim to help abandoned animals but the money trail leads somewhere else. baghdad pups, as far as we can tell, they don t do that at all. the montreal spca, canadian charity that helps abandoned cats and dogged received $13 million in donations over three years, but they ended up in the hole more than $4.5 million. now, all of these charities have one thing in common. they all have connections to a fund-raising company called quadriga art. they get paid to build mailing lists for the charity groups and that s where the money trail took drew. following the trail was one thing, getting answers was ....

yeah, this fire has really amped up in the last just couple of hours. a fire official told me less than an hour ago if he told me an acreage amount, it would be wrong in ten minutes. this fire is advancing at least at 2,000 feet every hour. the last four days this has been burning, they counted on the wind to at least burn it in towards the interior of the forest and away from populated areas. just within the last half hour, that has completely changed. the smoke is now coming towards us, towards the city of colorado springs. now, it doesn t seem at this moment there s any real danger to the city itself. but so far as of a couple hours ago, they miraculously i think not lost a single structure. i was in the interior of this fire and they had fire lines around individual houses and every single one them had held. this is going to make it a lot more difficult with this change in the wind direction. that s what prompted that additional evacuation of 7,000 people, soledad. ....
