CSPAN2 Key Capitol Hill Hearings June 20, 2014

Thats my question also have there been discussions within the irs about when to reveal this information to congress . Certainly. And these discussions included the treasury . No. Out of the treasury find out about its . Spinet of the first tim the firw about it i will have a lot of questions to write to you and in followup. Its completely unacceptable. Can i follow up . Spinet i want to move onto another topic. Your letter described the emails as being unrecoverable. Correct but fails to mention where the damaged hard drive is today. Do you know where the hard drive is that crashed . After it was determined it was dysfunctional and that experts know emails could be retrieved was recycled into the street in the normal process. Was it physically destroy . Thats my understanding. Was it melted down . I have no idea. This was three years ago. Does the irs have a tracking system for tracking items . We dont track every item everybody has that we track some items. Does someone have a serial ....

What danger do you worry about most in cyberspace . I think thats impressively not necessary. If you have been reading the papers and talking to your friends and colleagues across the private sector, but i would say four things about cyberspace, not entirely well understood by the public that makes use of that. I think therefore we still have some surprises that have insidiously crept up on us. The first thing i would say cyberspace, the internet writ large is not really this Massive Technology that acts as oftentimes is considered as just another version of the voter poll, fix it. Whatever technology, whatever aplukys we need to make it resilient, just do that. Its of course, a mix of technology and people and critical process. And theyre so interlocked its almost impossible to tease one out from the other so you cant delegate this to the i. T. Shop and say fix it. The other thing is everything is connected to everything. Con ....

Never be brought into the public square. Culturally we value the role of religion in public life stipulated. So the big difference, of course, is do we respect the right of everyone, irrespective of faith, including those who have no faith, those who are athei atheists, who are unbelievers, to follow their consciences precisely in matters of faith . We believe in that very strongly. We did from the beginning in the United States. Its written into our constitution. Even before we had a first amendment, our constitution has a prohibition of religious tests for public offices. Anybody of any faith can hold any office under the United States. And we have committed ourselves, as have many other nations, including iran, to International Human rights standards with respect to religious freedom. So were really simply asking i ....

A picture of malia inside, me giving her a hug. I love this case and the first prototype was made at a techshop and now youve got a whole bunch of people who have a business and who are employed there and theyre manufacturing and selling all across the country. So, we have the opportunity to grow ideas here in the United States, create businesses, create opportunities and all of this is happening in part because state, local and federal governments are also taking an interest in how can we promote manufacturing more effectively. Weve got some people here who have done a great job doing that. Youve got your own mayor, bill padudo, the mayor of pittsburgh whos here. Weve got county executive gerald whos here as well. And weve got one of your outstanding senators, bob casey whos here as well. All of these guys are great champions for what were trying to do, and a lot of my agenda for

Constitution, we had states like connecticut that had established churches still. But they were not active in that way. So i guess this idea of sharia being so broad seems to me to be more than just about whatever religion you believe in, because there are millions and millions of people who are muslims who do not subscribe to the overall political ideology that comes with that. Yes, thats thats absolutely right. You can have an established religion. In the United States we prefer not to have that. We disestablished our churches in the states, i think the last ones died out in the 1830s. But britain has the Anglican Church, it has an established religion, but it is respectful of the rights of religious minorities. I lived in britain myself for five years lives a graduate student and as a visiting scholar. I was not a member of the established church but i was entirely free to ....
