OnePlus will be launching its new OnePlus Theme Store For OnePlus smartphones with OxygenOS 12 update.

One Plus smartphones will soon be having a dedicated theme store with the OxygenOS 12 update, that will allow the user to configure their smartphones to their liking. OnePlus announced the news in an official forum thread, which also revealed a few details about the forthcoming OnePlus Open Ears Forum (OEF), which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18 at 10 A.M. Eastern Time (07:30 P.M. IST).
One of the reasons that made OnePlus smartphones quite popular among the community is the focus given to the software experience. The company changed the market when it introduced its very first device with CyanogenOS – a fork of the popular CyanogenMod custom ROM. The partnership with CyanogenOS didn’t last much longer, and the company had to develop its own software. The company’s house of ideas brought OxygenOS with a very close-to-stock Android approach. It proved to be one of the most popular Android skins out there and several users prefer it over vanilla Android. Last year, however, OxygenOS took a major departure from the stockish look to something more personal. The company started to introduce its own guidelines for design bringing something that is more unique. The next major addition coming to OnePlus phones with OxygenOS 12 is a theme store. OnePlus confirmed the news in an official forum post which laid out a few details of the upcoming OnePlus Open Ears Forum (OEF) set for May 18. OnePlus plans to discuss its upcoming OxygenOS 12 additions with a group of 15 users and several OnePlus community member s.
The OnePlus Theme Store is still up for debate though it seems a majority of the OnePlus forum members are supportive of the idea. OxygenOS 12 will be based on Android 12 (codenamed Snow Cone) and is expected to arrive later this year after Google officially unveils its latest OS.
