2021 – Artist In Residence The 2021 Velvetpark Artist Residency has been awarded to Gabrielle Randall. She begins her residency this week in Brooklyn at Crown Studios. Once Gabrielle settles in we look forward to posting and update on her work. Mention should be made of our runner-up candidate: Emma Anne Johnson. Our selection committee comprised of Assistant Professor at CUNY, Queens College/Conceptual Artist in Performance and Social Practice Chloe Bass, and Associate Professor at FIT/ Installation Artist/Filmmaker/Writer/Performing Artist Michelle Handelman. We here at Velvetpark want to thank everyone who applied. And while I know “Dear John/Jane” emails for those who received them, are always hard to read, there were indeed many talented and skilled applicants which made the selection process very competitive and challenging for our committee. ....
