The restrictions on supply chains. these two particular minerals are not the most widely used, they are not the ones that the united states and other countries are the most reliant on china for, they re not the hardest to get, but i think it s important to keep in mind that if china had put these sorts of restrictions on refined lithium or cobalt or something like that, it would be much more impactful than gallium and germanium. so china has intentionally selected ones that it can use to send a signal. they are clearly important to the semiconductor industry, but they are fungible, they can be swapped out for other things that in many instances are supplied by other places. so it is not going to create a crisis for the industry. speaking of restrictions, china has slapped export controls on certain drone related equipment, like engines, lasers and anti drone systems. ....

It is also a port security problem. there is a lot more to it that frankly you can unite and clamp down on china for. what the united states doesn t get is data an seizures. i was at ice immigration and customs enforcement. a all hinge on cooperation between countries. you have to get the folks on the other side of the border to not wag their fingers at what s happening in the united states and actually just work together on the problem. and i think regardless of the demand questions, and they re important to address here in the united states, but you also need a political partner across the border who is willing to give you the data on what s going on his own own country, and that s not happening. it is about the transparency aspect as well. it is one thing to have the data. what would a partnership look like to be effective with mexico? we have to have stronger border security. the border is an open wound in ....
