Police arrest eight suspected kidnappers in Osun

The Osun State Police Command said it arrested eight suspected members of a kidnap syndicate who relocated to hide in the state after operating in Benue State.
The command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said in a statement on Saturday that the suspects were arrested on Friday at Omo Ijesa village, following credible intelligence reports.
Opalola further said that when interrogated, the suspects confessed to have killed their last victim, one Mrs Akiishi Catherine, 65, and three others in their previous operations.
“The suspects were arrested on May 7, sequel to credible intelligence the command received and acted upon in a follow-up on a case of the kidnap of a 65-year-old, Mrs Akiishi Catherine in Benue State. ....

The Police Command in Osun said it has arrested eight suspected members of a kidnap syndicate who relocated to hide in the state after operating in Benue.
SP Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Saturday that the suspects were arrested on Friday at Omo Ijesa village, following credible intelligence reports.
Opalola further said that when interrogated, the suspects confessed to have killed their last victim, one Mrs Akiishi Catherine, 65, and three others in their previous operations.

Security operatives launch manhunt for fleeing kidnappers in Osun

A joint operation of Police, SSS, the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, JTF, Vigilantes, hunters and Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) have launched a manhunt for some fleeing abductors of travellers along Omoh-Ijesha and Erimo Ijesha in Oriade local government area of Osun State.
It will be recalled that seven of the abductors including a Yoruba man popularly know as Jumbo were arrested in the forest where they took their kidnapped victims to on Wednesday while others fled to escape arrest.
Security sources who hinted that they have been in the forest since Wednesday to fish out the kidnappers added that all perceived dangerous spots in the forest had been combed by the combatants. ....
