Final Results In Bulgarian Parliamentary Election Confirm ITN Win RFE 14 Jul 2021, 09:15 GMT+10 SOFIA - The final results from Bulgaria s snap parliamentary elections released on July 13 confirm earlier preliminary results showing the anti-elite party called There Is Such a People (ITN) edging out former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov s GERB-led coalition. With 100 percent of the ballots counted, TV entertainer Slavi Trifonov s ITN finished first with 24.08 percent and GERB with 23.51, Bulgaria s Central Election Commission said. The parliamentary elections were held just three months after a previous, inconclusive vote. ITN s vote total on July 11 was more than 92,000 beyond its total in the previous elections, held on April 4. GERB s total was nearly 200,000 votes below what it received in April. ....
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) had 13.7 percent, while liberal, Western-leaning grouping Democratic Bulgaria had 12.6 percent. The mostly ethnic Turkish-backed Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) had 10.6 percent, while Stand Up! Get Out! a new, center-left alliance launched by former Ombudsman Maya Manolova was at 5 percent. A pre-election survey by Gallup International showed ITN at 23.2 percent, ahead of GERB at 23 percent. Other polls forecast similar close results. Popular TV host Slavi Trifonov leads the There Is Such A People party in Bulgaria. About 6.7 million people were eligible to vote for members of the 240-seat parliament. Early estimates following exit polls gave ITN 64 seats, with GERM at 61. ....

Boyko Borissov’s GERB party remained the largest force, but appears unable to form a government. According to preliminary official results, Borissov’s coalition (GERB-SDS) emerges first, but with only 23.78% of the votes. In the 2017 elections Borissov’s GERB obtained 33% of the vote. Second comes “There is such a people”, a new force led by TV showman Slavi Trifonov, with 19.03%. The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) comes third with the disastrous result of 14.85%.
