Such a natural fit from the beginning of time, humans have been climbers to escape danger, and or a variety of reasons, and it s really fun, said Andrea Charest, the owner of Petra Cliffs Indoor Climbing Center in Burlington, Vermont. Olympic Climbing is a bit more structured than the escape danger times. There is three different disciplines that people will be combining, so it s kind of like a triathlon of climbing, basically, and they are very different disciplines. They all demand very different skill and technique, Charest said.Discipline 1: Speed climbing. It s just as fast as someone can get up a 15-meter wall, Charest said.Discipline 2: Lead or Sport Climbing.
