Osun Judicial Panel of Inquiry summons two NSCDC officers over boy chased to death

The Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, Human Rights Violations and Related Extra Judicial Killings, on Friday, ordered a subpoena compelling two officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to appear before it for being allegedly involved in the killing of one Master Idris Ajibola on September 15, 2020.
The panel also ordered the State Ministry of Justice to provide relevant documents in respect of the petition filed by one Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adetona whose kids were allegedly murdered by Police officers in Ilesa, Osun State, in 2016.
DAILY POST recalls that the parents of the late Idris Ajibola had approached the panel to seek justice in the gruesome murder of their son who was allegedly chased to death by the members of the Joint Task Force comprising soldiers, police, DSS and NSCDC officers. ....

Police Brutality: Osun Panel Summons Director Of Public Prosecution

The Osun State Panel of Inquiry on Police brutality and extrajudicial killings has ordered the Director of Public Prosecution in the State Ministry of Justice to appear before it on issues surrounding the killing of two children in 2015 by a police officer.
Chairman of the panel, Retired Justice Akin Oladimeji gave the ruling in Osogbo, the state capital on Thursday.
The order was given after one of the petitioners, Oluwatoyin Adetona, who is the mother of the two children, narrated how the children died as a result of the recklessness of a police officer.
According to her, the children were in the house when the drunk police officer reportedly ran a vehicle into their house and killed them. ....

A woman in Osun State has narrated how a drunk police officer allegedly used an armoured tank to run over her two children.
Oluwatoyin Adetona told the
Osun State Judicial Panel of Enquiry sitting in Osogbo, on Thursday, that her children were killed by the officer simply identified as Agada.
The incident happened in front of her house at D112, Egbe Idi Ilesa in 2015, on a Sunday, as they prepared to go to church. ....
