Township asks to ‘come to table’ regarding MABL Feb 12, 2021 LEWISTOWN – The Granville Township Supervisors on Thursday sent a letter to Lewistown Borough Council regarding its feelings pertaining to the situation involving Council and the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (MABL), which provides service to residents of Granville Township. A copy of the letter, dated today, was submitted to The Sentinel for publication. The text of the letter is included below and italicized: Council Members, Over the course of the past year, Granville Township and the other affected municipalities have been closely watching the actions undertaken by the Borough in relation to The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (MABL). We have read, reviewed and conversed about the emails sent by Council President Shade.

POLICE REPORTS FOR JAN 26, 2021

Punxsutawney, PA / WPXZ 104.1 FM Jan 26, 2021 4:09 PM State Police in Punxsutawney are investigating a theft that occurred on Sunday at a residence along Coolspring Road in Oliver Township of Jefferson County. Police say three rolls of chicken wire fencing were taken from the porch of the residence. If you have helpful information about this incident, State Police in Punxsutawney want to speak with you at 814-938-0510. State Police arrested at 27-year-old Punxsutawney woman following a traffic stop in Bell Township of Jefferson County on Sunday. Troopers say they stopped the vehicle on Route 119 near Bells Mills Cloe Road for a registration violation. Police say they observed several indicators of impairment as well as suspected drug paraphernalia. Troopers conducted field sobriety tests and placed the woman under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

Police: Local man killed in car crash | News, Sports, Jobs

aharpster@lewistownsentinel.com McVEYTOWN David White, an 82-year-old man from McVeytown, died due to injuries sustained in a Dec. 30 crash. Police said White was turning out of his driveway from Missing Pines Drive in Oliver Township at 7:36 a.m. on his 2007 Yamaha Grizzley F1-700 motorcycle and attempted to make a U-turn onto the roadway when he traveled into the path of Kate Groff, a 23-year-old woman, who was driving a 2008 Dodge Nitro west on Ferguson Valley Road, when he collided with Groff in a T-bone collision. White was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hosptial for treatment of suspected minor injuries but was later prounced dead at approximately 2 p.m. Groff was not injured as a result of the crash.
