Williston Road getting upgrades to improve safety for trail runners

A runner who was seriously injured when she was hit while crossing a confusing stretch of Williston Road south of Lincoln Middle School in December is recovering. And more good news  the Florida Department of Transportation will be making some sign and signal changes designed to give motorists and trail users clarification on how each should proceed. University of Florida doctoral student Olga Munoz was hit by an SUV on Dec. 10 where a paved trail that leads from the Depot Park area to the Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail crosses the four lanes of Williston Road. The driver fled and has not been found.
