Kiev, Apr 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Ambassador to Ukraine Natacha Diaz attended several events in Ukraine on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the nuclear accident in Chernobyl, diplomatic sources said on Wednesday.
Diaz and high-ranking prominent figures from the country laid wreaths at the Memorial Complex to the Heroes of Chernobyl, located in Desnianskyi district, where more than 17,000 people were evacuated at that time from the sites affected by the disaster.
His Holiness Filaret, Patriarch of Kiev and All Russia-Ukraine, made a requiem prayer near the Virgin of Chernobyl monument to the victims of the April 26, 1986, accident.
