My career as a teachers aide there were 291 women incarcerated in the entire state of the ohio. Today we have 4300. It has been a trend that is significant and if you think about the lowest crime rate, it is illogical. Weve had some more Current Trends and our population commitment there down a bit overall peers 6 increase in a number i want to talk about women just a second. As a look at the trending of women, what do we know . Its hard to see this. We passed house bill 86 that has caused a significant inmates as they passed the first year of our administration that basically said firsttime nonviolent offenders should not be sent to prison. Thats a remarkable and dramatic name. There is a 14 month consecutive reduction in the prison population. You can see the women as well, but its gone up and now we see 23 of revenue see probation violators. What i want to talk about is this gap between the intake and the actual population. Som ....
Where is the provision for of this piece . Because if we cant get these middle schoolers who are now ramping up, if we cant find them, stop them when theyre in middle school, all this is for not. Thats what we need to be going is middle school, maybe even Elementary School but at least middle school. Where is this going with juveniles . Weve looked at the version of youth and out of home please months, 90,000 a year bad for use in georgia. Recidivism rate is between 5065 . We came up with a fiscal Incentive Grant Program and we have 29 counties in georgia who represented 70 of georgias atrisk youth to build evidencebased programs. We gave them the money that have been proven to reduce recidivism and we asked them to reduce out of home placement by 15 completion report.
