St. Olaf College President David R. Anderson ’74 has announced the appointment of María Pabón Gautier as the college’s vice president for equity and inclusion.
Pabón came to St. Olaf in 2019 to serve as the inaugural director of the Glenn and Myretta Taylor Center for Equity and Inclusion. She has served as the interim vice president for equity and inclusion since the beginning of spring semester, leading a campus-wide initiative to create a more inclusive community and partnering with programs and offices across campus. She will assume her role as vice president for equity and inclusion on June 1.

Leslie Moore ’77 P’19 will assume her role as vice president for human resources on June 1.
St. Olaf College President David R. Anderson ’74 has announced the appointment of Leslie Moore ’77 P’19 as the college’s vice president for human resources.
Moore, who came to St. Olaf in 2015 to serve as the director of the Piper Center for Vocation and Career, has nearly four decades of diverse experience in law, higher education, and operational management. She will assume her role as vice president for human resources on June 1.

President David Anderson announces intent to retire in 2023
St. Olaf College President David R. Anderson ’74 has announced his intent to retire after the 2022–23 academic year.
“It is not common for the conversation about a leadership transition at a college to begin openly this far in advance of the event itself, but as the Board of Regents charts the future of this college and plans for its next leader, it is important to have time to gather input and prepare the college for the transition,” Anderson says. “We will want to have conversations with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. We will need to think deeply about the vision for the future and identify the skills, the competencies, and the habits of mind and heart required of our next leader.”
