Overland Park City Councilman Faris Farassati believes the Overland Park Convention Center is another option for a large vaccination clinic.
âTo use this facility in a way our people donât have to wait in the cold, donât have to wait outside, I definitely welcome and support that,â he said.

PHOENIX â As she lay on the floor of the volleyball court, strangers pressing paddles against her chest and the color dissipating from her face, Olivia Eisenhauer fought for her life.
An eighth-grade student at the time, she was walking off the court of a summer volleyball competition in Shawnee, Kansas, when she suddenly and violently collapsed to the ground. As concerned onlookers and her parents stood beside her, they first believed it was nothing but a minor injury suffered from the normal grind of sport.

Doctors at the University of Kansas Health System said patient numbers aren t bad Wednesday.
They said they are treating 112 patients. Sixty of those are suffering from acute infections. Eleven patients are in the ICU, with 10 on ventilators.
Fifty-two patients are in recovery phases.
U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) joined the doctors on Wednesday s broadcast.

“I, first, want to start by apologizing for the logistics how it was implemented was not what our county expects or deserves, and it will be different tomorrow [Wednesday] and going forward,” County Manager Penny Postoak Ferguson said in a virtual press conference on Facebook Tuesday night.
“We need to make improvements, and for that, I apologize.”
During Tuesday’s Phase 2 vaccination rollout at Okun Fieldhouse in Shawnee, people who signed up to be vaccinated nearly all individuals 80 years and older found themselves waiting outside in the winter weather, shuffling along in line in an icy parking.
