In A'Ibom, Wike Blasts N'Delta Enemies, Breaks Ground for Industrial Projects

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says the gas and fertilizer projects of the Udom administration in Akwa Ibom State will not only transform the economy of the state but will create employment opportunities for the people.
He also took on those propagating the conspiracy theory that the Niger Delta is unsafe, saying they are the real enemies of the vastly polluted oil and gas region.
He is, therefore, advising oil and gas companies operating in the region to always be mindful to implement the local content policy in order to foster cordial relationship with their host communities.
Governor Wike was speaking when he performed the groundbreaking of Giwa Gas FZE gas and fertilizer project at Okoroinyong village in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom. ....

In fulfilment of his campaign promise to change the narrative of the state from a civil service state to an industrial hub within the Gulf of Guinea, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel on Wednesday, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the multi-billion dollar Petrochemical and fertilizer company, Sterling Petro-Chemicals and Fertilizer Production Factory, in Eastern Obolo LGA.
The project is between the Akwa Ibom State Government and SPFL Developers for the purpose of setting up the Petrochemical and Fertilizer Production Factory, in line with the Federal Government National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP). ....

Wike said contrary to conspiracy theorists, Niger Delta was safe for investments.
He made the assertion in Okoroinyong village, Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The River’s governor urged oil and gas companies operating in the oil-rich region to always implement the local content policy to foster a cordial relationship with their host communities.
He said: “If Akwa Ibom State is not safe will investors come here? Investors are here because the governor has provided an enabling environment that gives confidence to the investors.
