The latest calls were triggered by a publication on Nairaland.com, which recently surfaced online detailing the minutes of a meeting allegedly chaired by Pantami in 2010, and organized to control the spread of Christianity in the North.

Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, was again embroiled in religious controversies on Wednesday following violent clashes between Christians and Muslims over the use of Hijabs in Government Secondary Schools.
The violence was said to have erupted after school officials at Baptist School, Surulere, barred female students wearing Hijab from entering the school.
The decision to deny Muslim students access into the school premises caused the pandemonium which led to violent face-offs.
The development had since sparked debates among social media users, as many Nigerians queried the state government’s decision to impose the wearing of Hijab in Christian mission schools. ....

The shouting match between the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike following the latter’s corruption allegation against Amaechi got tougher on Thursday.
Wike had accused the Minister, who is his predecessor, of failing to account for an alleged $308m accrued from the sale of state-owned power plants and other critical assets during his tenure.
Amaechi, responding to the allegation, said Wike must have spoken under the influence of alcohol, adding that the governor was once a staff of his and that he (Amaechi) could therefore not condescend to trading words with him.
“He was my staff, I can’t bring myself low. I was governor, I was also a speaker, I’m a minister. I was the two-term chairman of the governor’s forum. The same when I was a speaker. Why should I be discussing with him,” Amaechi said ....

Nigerians on social media on Saturday reacted massively to the report that Benin Republic is willing to cease from being a country and becoming Nigeria’s 37th state.
Many users received with shock, the revelation which came by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.
Onyeama stated this after a closed-door meeting with the Beninoise Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Aurélien Agbenonci, where Aurélien stated that the Beninoise President, Patrice Guillaume Talon, had earlier made the offer to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The President of Benin Republic said as far as they are concerned, they want (not just saying it like that) but in reality, Benin should be the 37th state of Nigeria,” he said. ....
