As part of the project, a $200,000 Federal Transportation PROTECT grant has been approved for the purchase of property for a stormwater pond along Nobles County Ditch 12, south of Oxford Street.

WORTHINGTON The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is continuing to gather public comment on a proposed water quality standard variance for Worthington’s wastewater treatment plant.
The city applied for a variance to the standard for chloride. If approved, the variance will give the city additional time to reduce the amount of chloride (salt) discharged as treated effluent into Okabena Creek.

WORTHINGTON
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) will be hosting a virtual public meeting via Webex at 5 p..m. Thursday to present information and take questions about a proposed water quality standard variance for the city of Worthington wastewater treatment plant. While rebuilding its aging waste water treatment plant, the city of Worthington still has some work to do about reducing the amount of chlorides salt in the treated effluent sent to Okabena Creek.
