The National Infrastructure Commission for Wales (NCIW) said big interventions were needed if 100% of electricity was to come from renewables by 2035. The Welsh government said it would carefully consider the recommendations. As of 2021, about 55% of Wales' electricity demand was being met from sources such as solar, wind or hydro.
