Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, whose name rings a bell in the Nigerian Juju music industry, is a veteran with a great participatory culture in his contribution to the country’s political development through music. In 1942, Obey, as popularly known, was gifted to the family of Obey-Fabiyi, in Owu, an Egba sub-ethnic group in Yorubaland. At the time of his birth, the Egba people were well-exposed and belonged to the community of Yoruba people who understood the value of Western education.
