Thirteen months into the coronavirus pandemic, a weary public is wondering what’s next.

Most significantly, on Tuesday, April 13, Ohio officials heeded the recommendation of the CDC and the FDA and halted use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the state, after six nationally reported cases of severe blood clots, including one death, were linked to the vaccine.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine addressed the issue at a briefing April 13. He said that after a call with the White House earlier in the day, he learned the recommendation was to help health providers treat any issues that arise from the shot. ....

COVID-19 cases: Holmes County no longer reports high incidence rate


The Ohio Department of Health designated Holmes County as a Level 2 because the county reported fewer than 100 new cases - Holmes reported 75 - per 100,000 population, which is below the high incidence rate. Over the last two weeks, the county reported 75 new cases per 100,000 population.
Why has Holmes moved from red to orange on the state s advisory map?
Derr attributed the drop in COVID-19 cases in the county to people gathering less due to the winter months and the availability of a vaccine, especially at the county s nursing homes. He also mentioned a decline in testing for the virus for why the county is seeing fewer positive cases. ....
