The Clara man, whose father won an All-Ireland with the county’s footballers in 1982, will support Offaly GAA’s commercial and fundraising initiatives to help progress improvements in their underage coaching programmes. Lowry’s financial contribution will also develop educational bursaries for young players in the county.

Offaly retain all six county managers January 20, 2021 At the Offaly County Board meeting all intercounty management positions were confirmed. Last night s meeting included a number of issues carried over from the County Convention which took place in December. Last month it was announced that Michael Fennelly would continue as senior hurling manager for a second year while John Maughan would be in the football hot seat for a third year. A number of the Faithful County’s underage teams were still playing at the time of the Convention with minor footballers and hurlers going on to qualify for a place in their respective Leinster finals, which have since been postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

After trading points in the opening stages, Offaly built up three-point lead at Newbridge, with Keith O’Neill and John Furlong on target for the Faithful county.
