Downtown businesses, hotel damaged during weekend gunfight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Several businesses are damaged after a Sunday morning gunfight in downtown Indianapolis. Some bullets even went through the Homewood Suites hotel.
“One of our security guys just ran into the building, let our manager know that they heard gunshots the street over. So we have an outdoor patio we pulled everyone inside,” said Eli Stidd, bartender at The Pub bartender.
At around 1 a.m. Sunday, businesses say three people started shooting at each other near South Meridian and West Georgia streets. Indianapolis metropolitan police say there will be more officers patrolling this area. “I heard three shooters and no fatalities,” Stidd said. ....

IMPD officer shot, injured during vehicle chase

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) An Indianapolis metropolitan police officer was shot and injured Saturday during a vehicle chase that started at the scene of a double shooting near 62nd Street and Michigan Road.
The officer who was shot during the chase was in good condition on Saturday afternoon, according to Officer Genae Cook with IMPD Public Affairs.
Police were called to the 6400 block of Kentstone Drive that’s north and west of 62nd Street and Michigan Road around 3:40 p.m. Saturday on a report of a person shot. Two people were found shot there. Both were taken to an area hospital, where one was in critical condition and the other was stable, Lt. Shane Foley said during a 5:50 p.m. press conference at 30th and Riverside. ....
