Portland man charged with attempted murder of officer during Clackamas County car chase

A Portland man is facing a slew of criminal charges, including attempted murder of an officer,
after authorities say he led deputies on a car chase and shootout through Clackamas County earlier this month, then shot at an Oregon City officer, shattering his car window and injuring his eye.
Gerald Barnes II, 48, is facing three counts of attempted aggravated murder, two of first-degree attempted assault and one each of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and attempt to elude.
He is in the Clackamas County Jail and his bail is set at $1 million. ....
