Electors Meet to Formally Choose Next President of the United States

Electors from each state will meet on Monday to cast their votes for the next President of the United States as part of the process enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.
Law requires electors which are typically selected earlier in the year and often comprised of party dignitaries to meet on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December to formally cast their votes for the next President of the United States. That Monday fell on December 14 this election cycle.
The 538 electors will gather in their designated places, typically set by state law, to cast their ballots by hand, voting for both a president and vice president. The candidate who reaches 270 wins the election. ....

All 538 electors voted Monday in the Electoral College, formalizing President-elect Joe Biden s victory in the 2020 presidential election. Their votes will next be sent to Washington to be counted by Congress on January 6.
Hawaii s four electors voted shortly after 7 p.m. to make the final tally 306 Electoral College votes for Mr. Biden to 232 for President Trump.  At 5:30 p.m. ET, California s electors cast their state s 55 Electoral College votes for Mr. Biden, putting him over the 270 needed to win. 
Mr. Biden spoke Monday night after the count had concluded, urging Americans to move forward after the election. While he struck a unifying tone toward the end of his speech, he also highlighted some of Mr. Trump s many legal challenges and his refusal to concede, calling it an assault on democracy. ....

Shelbyville, IL – State Rep. Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) has sent Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul urging him to join Texas and 18 other states that have filed a lawsuit against four states that have failed to follow the US Constitution with changes in election law that were implemented without legislative approval.
“The Constitution makes it clear that it is the sole responsibility of state legislatures to make the rules for presidential elections, but yet in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia there were changes in the rules that occurred without legislative action that affected the outcome of the election,” Halbrook said. “The failure of these states to follow the Constitution diluted the votes of millions of people living in states that did follow the Constitution. It is important to make sure that we can trust the outcome of this and future elections. We cannot and should not tolerat ....

The International Investigative Commission for Truth in Elections met on November 28 in a hearing sponsored by the Schiller Institute to hear testimony regarding irregularities and charges of voting fraud in the U.S. Presidential election. The following is the statement issued today by the distinguished panel of jurists.
