Danville Public Schools Superintendent Angela Hairston has seen a shift in culture within the system — and broader community — after an agreement inked in 2020 with the Virginia Department of Education launched to provide oversight and resources amid underperforming schools.
Out of 131 division across the state, Danville is one of only five under this kind of agreement with the state department. It will remain in place until all schools are accredited for two straight years.
