Fire ravages Kaneshie Market … 9 shops burnt December 21, 2020 Some of the shops burnt at the Kaneshie market Fire razed parts of the Kaneshie market in Accra on Saturday, destroying items running into thousands of Ghana cedis. The ravaging fire destroyed nine shops used as fabric, tailoring and warehouse. The fire followed similar recent incidents at the Asankragua Main Market in the Western Region, Koforidua Central Business District in the Eastern Region, and Kantamanto Market, Odawna Pedestrian Mall, and Liberty House GCB, all in Accra, destroying wares running into millions of Ghana cedis. No casualty was recorded during the Kaneshie Market fire, which started at 11:00pm, and personnel from Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quenched the fire at 1:00am, while the police were at the scene to cordon off the area and ensure law and order. ....
