obviously the white house wants to resolve this by this week. they have until about october 18th. at least congress has until october 18th to act, and, you know, you see where the white house would like the political winds on this to be blowing. republicans have also made a political calculus in their own political strategy and now you have a classic game of washington chicken, and when we have seen past instances of washington dysfunction like a government shutdown as kind of the most typical public display of washington dysfunction we see, it s kind of hard to see which side takes the blame. we ve seen it backfire on republicans. we ve seen it backfire on democrats too. we re definitely, definitely in uncharted territory when it comes to hitting the dell ceiling. it s extraordinary how much pessimism there is on both
