The Long Beach City Council could ask the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to create a $25,000 reward for help in arresting Octavio Montano Islas, who allegedly drove a truck into an apartment kiling a man and his 3-year-old daughter.
Long Beach police said they identified 24-year-old Octavio Montano Islas as the driver who fled the scene on foot after the crash. Police described Islas as a Hispanic man standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds with tattoos on his right forearm.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Octavio Montano Islas, 24, who had allegedly left a sports bar in Long Beach and was driving the truck that crashed into an apartment building, claiming the lives of Jose Palacios-Gonzalez, 42, and his 3-year-old daughter, Samantha Palacios.
