NEW DELHI: The government on Thursday eased rules for the re-issue of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards. The government has dispensed with the requirement of getting one’s OCI card re-issued each time a new passport is issued to him/her up to 20 years of age and once after attaining 50 years of age. A person registered as OCI cardholder before turning 20 now needs to have the OCI card re-issued only once after completing 20 years of age, so as to capture his/her changed facial features. For those issued OCI cards after 20 years of age, they will not need to get the OCI card reissued. However, they will be required to upload a copy of the new passport containing their photo and also a latest photo on the online OCI portal, each time a new passport is issued up to 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age, say the new OCI card regulations approved on the directions of home minister Amit Shah. ....

NEW DELHI: World s largest vaccine manufacturer by volume, Serum Institute of India, has sought Union home minister Amit Shah s intervention in bringing changes in the Air Operations Routine (AOR) issuance policy at the Pune airport for smooth operation of non-scheduled aircraft. In a recent letter to Shah, the Pune-based firm suggested amendments in the AOR policy stating, it is needed for foreigners to commute smoothly at the airport and encourage ease of doing business in India . The Pune airport is a defence airfield that operates under the Indian Air Force (IAF). Because of this, AOR is required for the foreign passengers, pilots and crew members coming to Pune by non-scheduled flights, said Prakash Kumar Singh, Director, Government and Regulatory Affairs at Serum Institute of India (SII), in the letter. ....
