Health care workers began receiving the vaccines Wednesday at Terrebonne General and Thibodaux Regional medical centers. Workers at Ochsner-run Chabert Medical Center in Houma and St. Anne Hospital in Raceland began receiving shots Tuesday. 
Pulmonologist Dr. David Patten was the first at Thibodaux Regional to take the vaccine. 
“I’m really excited,” Patten said. “It’s been a long time waiting. As soon as I heard that it was coming out and they were sending it down I have been looking forward to getting it. I want to show people this is what we should do.” 
TGMC received its first 250 doses of the Pfizer vaccine Wednesday morning and will administer all of them to workers at the hospital within days. The hospital expects to receive 250 doses weekly and potentially more as availability grows.  ....
