Taione Sikivou is the new National Champion of the 2020 APCO Fiji National Chess Championship.
Sikivou beat defending champion, Manoj Kumar to win the title.
Sikivou says 2020 was a tough and challenging year for all players, but he is grateful for the players commitment to the sport.
He adds they are thankful that there were a lot of participants in the primary and secondary school category, as chess is a minor sport in Fiji and this would build and develop their interest and skills in Chess. ....
