JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Six schools in Mississippi have earned the College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science A (CSA) and / or AP Computer Science Principles (CSP). Schools that have been awarded the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded girls’ access to AP computer science courses.
Of the 20,000 institutions that offer AP courses, these six schools are among the 1,119 that achieve either 50% or more female representation in one of the two AP computer science courses or a percentage of female computer scientists that that of the female students of the meet or exceed school. population during the 2019-2020 school year: ....

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi Department of Education is inviting aspiring teachers to apply for the third aide of the Mississippi Teacher Residency program.
MTR is a two-year program that combines college coursework and on-the-job training to prepare soon-to-be teachers.
The program is a collaboration of MDE with selected university and district partnerships and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, which funds the program, and it is part of a statewide strategy to expand and diversify the teaching workforce in order for all students and teachers to be well prepared, licensed and be able to serve as role models. ....
