Drunk driver who rear-ended car in deadly crash has license suspended for life Updated Mar 01, 2021; Facebook Share A man who was driving drunk, crashed into another car and killed its driver was sentenced Monday to five years in state prison, authorities said. Douglas Thompson, 56, of Jackson, pleaded guilty on Nov. 19, 2020 to death by auto in exchange for the sentence, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. A judge also ordered Thompson’s driving privileges be suspended for life. Thompson rear-ended a car driven by Thomas Marciano as Marciano was stopped behind a vehicle making a left turn at the intersection of Stevens Road and Route 9 on Oct. 15, 2019, authorities said. ....
