Barack obama s presidency. everything is in relation and reflection of the man who came before him. which is a weird way to be president. i will let you comment on that and a i will give you the last word to lawrence because that s what his show did is called. i will be the second last word. the penultimate word. i think even donald trump will be his place in history. i do think during the obama administration, i talked about this before, a lot of my family didn t understand the difference between state and federal, local government. i had friends who didn t really understand, they were so excited about this president, they would say, man, with he got president obama in office and that pothole on the corn er it got fixed. it like obama doesn t know nothing about no pothole. i think what president trump has done is he has inspired people to pay attention to what is going on. people are now more engaged than they were before. so, you know, we have to have a president trump to get p ....
To talk about good news because there s always good news somewhere. and that one absolutely rules. today, he comes to us from california where a firefighter who dedicated his life to helping others, he s doing the same thing in death. perry choi died of a stroke just before he turned 47. but he donated his heart to another man a guy named jim donovan on sunday. choi s widow met donovan for the first time and she got the chance to listen to her husband s heartbeating in another man s chest. afterwards she said that she felt like they were all a family. that s an extraordinary story. it wraps us up for this hour and it restores some faith in humanity. at the end of the day, we ve all got to try to be a little bit nicer to one another. doesn t mean we re not going to call one another out for bad behavior, but at the end of the day, could we just be a little nice center i ll see you again at 11:00 a.m. where i promise i ll be nice to my partner and ....
So it has worked. it has brought these. i mean, look, if the president of south korea is willing to give trump credit for making this happen, we have to acknowledge that he has more information and he has much more at stake than we do. so that s not the same thing as saying he deserves a nobel prize, let s be clear. just because the nobel commit ent committee lowered the bar for obama doesn t mean they ll do it for trump. or is the south korean president playing to president trump saying i say something like this and trump won t walk away? trump loves a compliment like that. this will get trump to absolutely focus on it. if the south korean president wants to make sure this summit happens, calling for the president to get the nobel, that s going to help it. we have to talk about the way in which this president is driven by being able to do things that his predecessors ....
When it comes to making these deals. if we re ripping up the iran deal and then expecting to make some kind of negotiation with north korea. the president, though, that criticism is certainly warranted. the president, though, doesn t seem to be reacting to that. you heard him in that rally saying john kerry made a terrible deal on iran. i m not going to do that on north korea. so we don t see him thinking about that, at least publicly in this way. the president is setting a very high bar for himself when it comes to north korea. saying that nobody else has been able to do it of course but i could. he s been, you know, talking to the crowd about it. last week he tweeted that the war between north and south is over. has no one been able to do it? i heard michael hayden this morning saying we ve been here before. have we? that s why it s very important to see what are the ramifications for north korea if the talks do not go well. what is the u.s. going to do if we do not have a full d ....
President bmobama s office. because president trump enjoying having a foil, enjoys having, you know, somebody to play off of. obama doesn t want to make it into a trump versus obama battle. peter, there are also these reports that president s going to be hitting the campaign trail this fall in virginia, stumping for the democratic nominee in that state governor s race. oversea, mr. obama has endorsed angela merkel form re-election there. can we expect more of a political role for president obama? well, and he also just announced he ll do a fund-raiser for the democratic national committee. you know, he doesn t want to get out there too much i think. the virginia race is the only other big race in america. it s an offyear election. it s a purple state that s gone both ways in the last years. it s going to be seen as a real bellweather as, you know, where the party stands, where his party stands, in the trump era. can the democratic nominee beat ....
