Kenneth N. Edelman passed away peacefully Sunday, March 28, 2021 from natural causes.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1934 to Marian Anette Crooks and Harry R. Edelman II. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Bob and Bud.
Ken attended Edgewood High School, and University of Pittsburgh before entering Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. The summer after high school he and his buddies drove around the country seeing the sights. He married Sandra Lee Wood in 1959 and raised three boys in Bradford, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, West Lafayette, IN and Alton, IL. Rich, Mark and Paul share their father’s sense of humor and love of adventure.

Crowe collects donations for Oasis

GLEN CARBON State Sen. Rachelle Crowe, D-Glen Carbon, during February, hosted a hygiene product drive for Oasis Women’s Center in Alton.
Oasis Women’s Center provides shelter and supportive services for victims of domestic violence. Residents dropped off items at four area locations.
“Thanks to donations from community members, victims of domestic violence and their children residing at Oasis Women’s Center will have a new supply of essential hygiene products,” Crowe said.
Crowe donated the items to Oasis Women’s Center on March 1 in honor of the start to Women’s History Month.

ALTON State Sen. Rachelle Crowe, D-Glen Carbon, is hosting a hygiene product drive to aide the Oasis Women’s Center in Alton.
Donation items in high demand include African American hair products, deodorant and lotion. Other items sought include feminime hygiene products, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner.
The products can be dropped off during February at Wood River City Hall, 111 N. Wood River Ave., Wood River; Bethalto Village Hall, 213 N. Prairie St., Bethalto; Boheme Boutique, 6120 Shoger Drive, Edwardsville; and White Birch Interiors & Home, 701 W. Delmar Ave., Alton.
Crowe will donate the collected items to the Oasis Women’s Center on March 1.
