Breaking news from Captain Obvious, there is no perfect defensive tackle in this year s draft.
In the next chapter of comparing college PFF grades with the NFL PFF grades for recent draft picks, we look at Defensive Tackle. You ve likely heard the terms 1-Tech, 3-Tech, and Nose Tackle and also A-gap, B-gap, etc. What that means is that DT s line up in different positions along the DL, effectively creating 3 different positions. Most players are better suited to one or two of the three, rare is the guy that can play all three effectively. Then to complicate things a bit more, we need the players to stop the run and rush the passer - again some are suited better for one or the other and rare is the guy that can do both really well. As a result, the perfect defensive tackle is a unicorn that doesn t exist, except for maybe Fletcher Cox and Aaron Donald. ....

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) Brady White already held several Memphis career records, but he left another mark in his finale.
White passed for 284 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a 25-10 victory over Florida Atlantic on Wednesday night in the Montgomery Bowl, snapping a five-game bowl losing streak.
The Tigers (8-3) built a big halftime lead, withstood a third-quarter rally and ended coach Ryan Silverfield’s first season with a second straight win.
“They’ll go down in history for their fight and everything they did this season,” Silverfield said, adding that his team ended up playing with 53 scholarship players. ....
