No Evidence of Fraud, Irregularities in Bomi Senatorial Election


Supreme Court declares, affirms NEC Board of Commissioners’ in favor of Rep. Snowe
Following intense legal wrangling over allegations of reported fraud and irregularities said to have marred the December 8 Special Senatorial Election in Bomi County, the Supreme Court has declared that there is “No evidence to substantiate the claims.”
Edwin Melvin Snowe, the current Representative of Bomi County District#1, contested in the December 2020 Senatorial election and was earlier declared by the National Elections Commission as the winner over his main rival, J. Alex Tyler, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and former Representative of District #2 in the county. Mr. Tyler, who was accused during the Voter Roll Update of trucking voters from Monrovia to Bomi for registration, did not accept the declaration of Snowe as a winner but took the matter to the Supreme Court. ....

MONROVIA – The Board of Commissioners of the National Elections Commission (NEC) have nullified complaints filed by J. Alex Tyler of the Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) against the National Elections Commission and Edwin Melvin Snowe in the just-ended senatorial elections in Bomi County.
The Commission also nullified complaints filed against the NEC and Representative Zoe Emmanuel Pennue by Thomas Y. Nimely in Grand Gedeh County on the election results declaring Zoe Pennue as the winner of the senatorial election in the county. ....

MONROVIA – The ruling Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has taken the National Elections Commission (NEC) and Senator-elect of Bomi County, Edwin Snowe, to court over alleged wide spread electoral fraud and irregularities across over 30 polling places in the county.
The CDC has, therefore, petitioned the Supreme Court to prohibit the NEC from certifying Senator-elect Snowe who has already been declared winner of the senatorial election in the county until their complaint which has already been heard and adjudged by the NEC independent hearing officer is decided by the Board of Commissioner and possibly, the Supreme Court. ....
