Five teenagers were in the car. Four of them, including the driver, were transported to Nyack Hospital or Westchester Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. All of the teenagers were under the age of 18 and students at Suffern High School.
Patrick Breen, Suffern High School principal, wrote a letter to the school s community to inform them of the crash. Counseling and support services will be held at the school from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. 
A student death is a difficult and challenging situation that can generate a high level of anxiety and distress in some students and also may point out the reality of a child’s own mortality, Breen said. In addition, children may have had no experience in coping with a loss like this and may be confused as to how to handle grief.
