OGDENSBURG – The U.S. Border Patrol Swanton Sector presented recently the St. Lawrence County, N.Y. Sheriff’s Office a disbursement check for $88,532.81.
On May 27, 2020, Border Patrol Agents from the Ogdensburg Station encountered a vehicle in Canton, following the observation of suspicious activity consistent with illicit cross-border smuggling, said a press release from Border Patrol.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana, ketamine and $126,576 in United States currency. Based on the investigation, and with the assistance from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the narcotics were seized by the U.S. Border Patrol and the currency was subsequently forfeited. ....
