DELTA State Government has said one of the new Universities, the Delta State University of Agriculture was named after the first Premier of the defunct Mid-Western Region, Chief Dennis Osadebe so as to immortalise him in recognition of his struggle.
The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Patrick Muoboghare who made explanation while briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting of the State’s Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, said the University was not named after Chief Dennis Osadebe as away of compensating his family.

Delta State Government on Thursday said Asaba International Airport was not sold but only concessioned for 30 years to make for its adequate upgrade into a world-class airport, by the concessionaire.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting of the State’s Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Asaba.
