QUETTA: A leader of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party, Senator Agha Umar Ahmedzai, has claimed that BAP will emerge as the single largest party in Balochistan in the next general election and form government in the province on its own.
Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, he said his party in a very short period had become the fourth largest party of the country. Senior lawyer Amanullah Tareen, along with other lawyers, joined the BAP on this occasion.
Senator Ahmedzai welcomed the lawyer and said it was the leadership and vision of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, which had made the party able to have 12 members in the upper house. ....

The Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology directed creating awareness among parents regarding the social media use, saying that it was not for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block sites, the Media Directorate of the Senate Secretariat said in a statement on Monday.
The committee, which met with its chairperson Rubina Khalid in the chair, discussed the issues of public importance raised in the house by Senator Atiq Sheikh and by Munir Ahmed Khan. The issue of ban on social media also came under detailed discussion. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Committee on Interior on Tuesday gave approval of strong legislation, suggesting stringent punishment to child abuse and rape cases.
While The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (Section 297A, Act XLV of 1860) introduced by Senator Muhammad Javed Abbasi was discussed in detail and it was suggested in the bill that whoever commits rape, molestation of any kind to any human corpse shall be punished with imprisonment of life not less than 14 years and a fine which may extend to one million but not less than one hundred thousand rupees.
