The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Enugu Zonal Office, on Wednesday arraigned a fake Chevron worker, Uguru Justus, before Justice Phoebe Ayua of the Federal High Court, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Justus was arraigned on one count of obtaining money by false pretences to the tune of N4,500,000.
A statement by the Head, Media and Publicity, EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, indicated that the suspect allegedly defrauded a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Dr Edward Nkwegu, of the said amount on the pretext of securing a contract for him at Chevron Nigeria Limited.

The defendant allegedly perpetrated the fraud under the pretext of helping the complainant to secure a Chevron contract.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Uguru Justus on charges of defrauding a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Edward Nkwegu, to the tune of N4.5 million.
The anti-graft agency alleged that the defendant, who falsely presented himself as a member of staff of Chevron Nigeria Limited, obtained the money from Mr Nkwegu under the pretext of helping him to secure a contract from the oil firm.
