Mass-goers will have to book in advance if they wish to attend church over Christmas. Covid restrictions mean there is a limit on the number of people who can attend mass this Christmas time, when churches traditionally see a large increase in the number of people attending services. Fr Donal Roche, Parish Priest for St Patrick s Parish, acknowledges that he never envisaged a time when parishioners would have to book before attending Mass. Its a very different Christmas to what we would normally be looking forward to, said Fr Roche. I never imagined a time in all my years as a priest when people would have to make a booking for Mass but it is happening now in quite a lot of parishes. We are restricted to around 80 people in the church, with two metres distancing between each household or individual.
