Screenshot from amateur video Efang alias Big Number, the self-proclaimed ‘General’ of the Ambazonia Defence Forces (ADF) has apologized for the uncountable atrocities committed by separatist fighters in Cameroon’s North West and South West Regions. In a 10 minutes 36 seconds video released on social media Saturday, March 6, 2021, the separatist strongman, flanked by two masked gunmen, revealed that overzealous gunmen who are high on drugs carry out kidnappings, assault among others. Efang, presented as the overall commander of ADF fighters on ground zero, hints that because of the atrocities committed by some separatist fighters, the helpless masses are now working closely with Government troops. ....

The decision comes amidst a rising number of COVID-19 positive cases across the country. Minister Nalova Lyonga said in a press release Thursday, March 4, 2021, that her ministry intends to urgently carry out COVID-19 screening on all students and staff. “The Minister of Secondary Education hereby informs the national and international community that owing to the rise in the number of cases tested positive to COVID-19 over the past few days, the Ministry of Secondary Education intends without further delay, to systematically administer COVID-19 screening tests to all students, as well administrative and teaching staffs of secondary schools and teacher training colleges nationwide,” the press release read in part. ....

Tamfu Elangwe Godwin Motoko alias General Goddy has responded to Minister Atanga Nji’s epistle calling on armed separatists to drop their weapons and abandon the “dangerous adventure”. The repentant fighter was lord over Bole, Kombone Mission, Kwa Kwa, Nake, and other enclave localities in Meme Division of Cameroon’s South West Region. A smile-filled Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Meme Division, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong received ‘General Goddy’ on March 2, 2021, at his office in Kumba. The SDO urged other separatist fighters to copy the example of ‘General Goddy’ and drop their weapons. He hailed the repentant separatist fighter for heeding Territorial Administration Minister Atanga Nji’s call for separatists to willingly drop their arms in their own interest. ....
Facebook Ali Mohamadou and Mildred Kitang are champions of the 26th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope in the male and female categories respectively. The race took place Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Buea, capital of Cameroon’s South West Region. Ali Mohamadou covered the 38-kilometer racecourse from the Molyko Omnisport Stadium to the summit of Mount Cameroon and back in 4hours, 30 minutes, 46 seconds, emerging overall champion and first in the male category. He smiled home with a trophy and cash prize of FCFA 10 million. Last year’s champion, Godlove Gabsibuin arrived second to secure a FCFA 7 million cash prize. He is the most successful athlete in the male category with a record five wins. He emerged champion in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020. ....
