Alachua County deputies look for owner of two dogs that attacked 7-year-old girl

The dogs are described as dark brown or black Rottweilers or pitbulls.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the girl was on a swing in her front yard, near Tower Road and 53rd Place, when the unleashed dogs came bounding onto the property. She was bitten several times all over her body, and taken to UF Health Shands Children s Hospital with severe puncture wounds to both her legs and upper chest.
The girl is expected to recover after stitches and emergency surgery.
Two years ago, the county agreed to tighten its animal codes after a string of fatal dog attacks. A small terrier named Bella was mauled and killed by three pitbulls during a walk in the Northwood Pines neighborhood. Two months later, two more fatal dog attacks were reported to Animal Services. ....
