City officials, despite holding a public meeting the night of Nov. 21, did not share the information of the resignations until a Dec. 5 meeting after a Dec. 3 post on social media brought the matter out into the open.
Simmons, through his public defender Ben Kolter, agreed to plead guilty on May 22 to possession of dangerous drugs in exchange for the dismissal of misdemeanor charges related to driving offenses and resisting arrest.
According to the citation, Nash hit a parked vehicle in the 700 block of 12th St. E. in Polson. He was arrested on the scene, and refused a blood alcohol test.
Polson Police Chief Wade Nash has stepped down from his role, effective Tuesday, and has announced that he will officially retire from the force May 2.
