The Independent CANAL FULTON The Northwest Local Board of Education hired Shawn Braman to serve as the district s next superintendent at a special meeting Thursday morning. Braman, who serves as superintendent at Waterloo Local Schools in Portage County, will take the leadership role Aug. 1. Dennis Lambes will continue to serve as interim until July 31. The board asked the retired Northwest superintendent in 2019 to serve as interim while they conducted the candidate search. Braman, 54, a Doylestown resident, told board members he was excited and thrilled to be at Northwest and he looked forward to working with the board. The hiring comes more than a year and a half after Mike Shreffler left the top leadership role in July 2019. ....
