Mar 9, 2021 Darla M. Yennard, age 68, a resident of Gloversville and a former resident of Northville, passed away early Friday morning on March 5, 2021, at Nathan Littauer Hospital due to unforeseen complications. Darla was born in Gloversville N.Y., on November 27, 1952, the daughter of Edith and Nelson Blowers. Darla was a longtime Northville area resident, a homemaker and loved caring for children. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dawn Lane; daughter, Darcy Blowers; and her husband, Vernon Yennard. Survivors include her son, Christopher Yennard; two grandsons, Nathan and Shaun Blowers; five brothers, David, Jim, Rodney, Jerry and Paul Blowers; one granddaughter, Haylee Wilson; and one daughter-in-law, Kylie Fitzpatrick.

Mar 4, 2021 Rosemarie Van Nostrand, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 2, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 77. Born August 20, 1943, in Gloversville to Frank and Louise (Groshans) Lawrence. Rosemarie is a graduate of Gloversville High School, class of 1962. She met her future husband and soulmate, James, at age 16, and she married him on June 30, 1962. She travelled with James during his duty with the Air Force, before returning to the area and spending close to 20 years working for the Northville Central School, where she loved being around kids. Her family was everything to Rosemarie. Her passion was spending the day with her children and grandchildren sharing her love of cooking with them, preparing all sorts of wonderful recipes. She was an expert in the use of ingredients and is remembered for her assurance that recipes were only estimates. She had countless cookbooks and subscribed to many cooking journals. Blowers, age 49, a resident of Gloversville and former resident of Northville, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville due to unforeseen complications. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on September 6, 1971, the daughter of Darla Blowers Yennard. Darcy attended Northville Central School and was a lifetime area resident. Survivors include her fiance, Mark Sanders; her mother, Darla Yennard; two sons, Nathan and Shaun Blowers; one brother, Christopher Yennard; one sister-in-law, Kylie Fitzpatrick; one niece, Haylee Wilson. There will be no calling hours or funeral service at this time. A celebration of her life service will be held at a later date. Feb 13, 2021 Marlene Zoller Rust passed away at home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer with her family by her side. Marlene was born on January 12, 1953, in Gloversville, NY, to Eugene Zoller and Ruth Morrison Zoller. Marlene began her career at St. Claire’s Hospital in Schenectady as a Radiology Technician but retired from Sunmount DDSO after nearly 30 years. She was also employed by various restaurants in the community through the years. Marlene loved all animals but was especially interested in the welfare of wild animals and spent over a decade as a wildlife rehabilitator. She was very active in the community in various volunteer roles and never missed a chance to help out wherever she was needed. She also enjoyed birdwatching, flowers, exercising her patriotic spirit, gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing, baking, cooking for friends and family, and she especially enjoyed monarch butterflies and preserving their natural habitat.

Harry G. Stephens | News, Sports, Jobs

Feb 12, 2021 Harry G. Stephens, age 93, a resident of the town of Hopem, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Wells House Nursing Home in Johnstown. He was born in Gloversville, NY, on August 4 1927, the son of the late Harry and Bertha Knapp Stephens. Harry was a United States Army veteran serving in Japan during WW II. He received the WW II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He married Leona P. Edwards on February 14, at the Batchellerville Church, who predeceased him in 2011. Survivors include his favorite son, Gary Stephens (Deb) of Northville; daughters, Nancy Sauve (Andy) of Northville, Pat Curry of Johnstown, Janet Bunn of Gloversville and Susan Adams (Dave) of Northville. Several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive him.
